چکیده

1. The apparent acid and basic dissociation constants were determined potentiometrically by the methods of hydrolysis and of titration for the following ampholytes: Glycocoll, glycylglycocoll, alanylglycocoll, valylglycocoll, leucylglycocoll, methylleucylglycocoll, phenylalanylglycocoll and glycylglycylglycocoll. The constants were also determined in the presence of KCl and of K(2)SO(4) at equal ionic strength. 2. In general, the relative order of magnitude of the constants decreased as the number of carbon atoms between amino and carboxyl groups increased. An explanation of this is offered on the basis of theories of electronic structure. 3. The application of the modern concepts of solutions to the case of the ampholytic ions is discussed. The inadequacy of the present theories is pointed out. 4. The constants were found, in general, to be functions of the hydrogen ion activity and the ionic strength of the solutions. Apparent contradictions to the Debye-Hückel theory are pointed out and partially explained on the basis of specific ion effects.

Background and Aims: Organophosphate compounds are the most popular insecticides with the widespread application in pest control. These toxic compounds interfere with the blood cholinesterase and inhibit the cholinestarse activity.Measurement of Cholinesterase activity is widely used for diagnosis of poisoning and adverse effects caused by pesticides. Green-house workers are one of the import...

Electrometric and colorimetric determination of carbonic anhydrase.

The activity of carbonic anhydrase has been estimated by three procedures: manometric (l-3), calorimetric (2, 4-8), and electrometric (9). For investigations of the enzyme concentration of tissues the calorimetric method has often been used in preference to the manometric technique because of its relative simplicity. A disadvantage of the calorimetric method has been the inhibitory effects of t...

An electrometric method for the determination of tyrosinase activity.

The pathway of dopachrome formation from L-dopa involves the net release of one proton for each molecule of dopachrome formed. The protons produced as a consequence of the enzymic step catalysed by tyrosinase can be measured by an electrometric device able to monitor changes in H+ concentration below 1 microM. This electrometric recording can be used as a simple, sensitive and continuous method...

Development of a Simple and Efficient Method for Preconcentration and Determination of Trace Levels of Fexofenadine in Plasma and Urine Samples

A simple, inexpensive and sensitive three-phase hollow fiber liquid-phase microextraction (HFLPME) coupled with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV detection was successfully developed for determination of trace level of an anti-Histamine drug, fexofenadine, in human plasma and urine. The analyte was extracted into n-octanol that was immobilized in the wall of a porous hollow ...

Modeling Structural Relationships between Trauma experience and Peritraumatic dissociation in People with Earthquake Trauma Experience: The Mediating Role of experiential avoidance

Introduction: Earthquake trauma has a wide range of psychological consequences in the affected areas. In addition, the role of Peritraumatic dissociation - as one of the consequences of trauma and the shaping factor of psychological problems - is still unknown. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to Modeling Structural Relationships between Trauma experience and Peritraumatic dissociati...
